Students in Mrs. Davis's class at Rosehill Elementary have been studying how to make observations of their local weather conditions to see patterns over time. They learned about the seasons, various types of weather and the differences among things such as sunny, rainy, cloudy, snow, warm, hot and cold. The students observed what the weather was like each day and what it was like the day before to create patterns. Students also learned about the purpose of forecasting. They learned about meteorologists and how they make forecasts to prepare for severe weather. Students also watched different weather forecasts. For their final project, students worked in groups to make a forecast of a specific weather condition. Thank you to Gary Lezak and his meteorology team for being willing to judge their weather forecast.
